Counselling provides a safe and confidential container where you are able to explore whatever is on your mind. My aim is for us to build a trusting relationship where we can work collaboratively. I will listen with compassion and without judgement, helping you to explore your thoughts, feelings and beliefs, to develop self-awareness, so that you can better understand any patterns you may have. Sessions are led by you, going at your own pace, discussing what feels most important for you to bring.
As an integrative counsellor trained in a variety of techniques, I believe there are many ways to understand human psychology and wellbeing. I work holistically with clients, integrating theories and approaches to suit their individual needs. I work in collaboration with my client, meeting them where they are to build a therapeutic relationship where thoughts, feelings and behaviours can be fully explored.
Therapy is not for everyone. It's not a magic wand, I don’t have all the answers, and I am not here to advise, direct or diagnose you. However, I can offer my commitment and openness to helping you to uncover your own solutions, I will offer my observations and my curiosity, sharing information I feel might be useful in helping you find your way forward to personal growth, acceptance and change.
Research shows that counselling can help with a range of issues, including anger, depression, relationship issues, bereavement and loss, anxiety, self-esteem, personal development and trauma and abuse. I believe that given the opportunity to explore and reflect within a safe, therapeutic relationship, we can all thrive.
Counselling works best where there is a commitment to regular, consistent sessions. We can meet for as many or as few sessions as you would like, either in-person, or via telephone or video call. Remote counselling means that you can access therapy from wherever you feel most comfortable, and many people find it a more accessible and convenient way to fit therapy into their busy lives. It also means that clients don't need to live locally to a particular counsellor to work with them.
I have also completed two accredited courses in online and telephone counselling so that I am able to deliver this service ethically and in line with BACP guidance and good practice.
