Claire McPhail Counselling Services complies with the terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to ensure your personal data is protected. This privacy notice explains how I look after your personal information. 

I process data solely in order to provide a service. The purpose of this statement is to let you know what personal information I collect and hold, why I collect this data and how long it is kept. 

I collect personal information about you when you enquire about my service in order to set up a discovery call. This information includes contact details, your availability and other relevant personal information. Once a client finishes working with me, all data regarding them is stored securely for seven years, in accordance with my insurance. It is then destroyed securely. 

Your personal information will be used in accordance with the provision of service. I will not share your personal details with any other person or organisation without your knowledge and permission, unless there is a legal requirement to do so, a safeguarding issues or perceived risk of harm.Your address, telephone number and email will be kept for contact purposes for the duration of the time we work together. 

I may keep brief, anonymised notes following each session, which will include personal details about you. These notes provide a record of our work together and do not include your name. Personal contact information is filed separately from any notes. Any information stored electronically is password protected and any paper notes are securely stored. All notes and records will be kept for a period of seven years, as stipulated by my insurance, after which they will be destroyed securely.
